About

Hi, I’m Kristen! My boyfriend, Jacob, and I are two Americans who love traveling.

I am originally from the very small town of Angelica, in Western New York. I attended college at the State University of New York at Fredonia, graduating in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and sport management.

Jacob is from Jamestown, New York. He studied sport management at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and also graduated with a bachelor’s in 2017.

We met in 2015, during the summer before our junior year of college. We were both interns for a baseball team in Jamestown.

After college, we moved to Erie, Pennsylvania for two years. Jacob was an account executive for the Erie Bayhawks in the NBA G-League. I worked in human resources for a healthcare company.

While living in Erie, we decided we were ready for a big change. By we, I mostly mean me. I’m naturally the more spontaneous and adventurous one. I got the idea that I wanted to move abroad from watching House Hunters International on HGTV. I thought to myself, “if these people can just pack up and move to another country, why can’t we?” Luckily, I was eventually able to convince Jacob of my crazy idea to move to Spain.

We spent a year living in Madrid, working as english language assistants through the Spanish Ministry of Education. Living in Spain gave us a unique opportunity to travel all around western Europe and submerge ourselves in a foreign culture.

I started blogging in November of 2019, just as a way to jot down our experiences to share with family and have all of our photos and memories in one place to look back on. Our family loved the blog, of course, because they were able to read more in depth about what we were up to. A few months in, I realized how much I loved having this creative outlet and I’ve been going strong ever since.

COVID-19 has obviously put a big strain on my ability to travel and bring first-hand accounts to my blog. I’ve tried my best to adapt and make creative content that is still relevant and travel related. Along with the rest of the world, I can’t wait for travel to be back and life to proceed as usual. Until then, hopefully my blog can continue to provide useful and entertaining information for travelers around the world.

We are on a never-ending quest to see as much of the world as we can, taking it one small journey at a time. We love having the opportunity to offer advice and insight into our lives along the way. We enjoy talking about places, food and travel inspiration. We hope you will join us and be inspired to create your own amazing memories!
